Equinor: Subsurface Geologist Internship Summer 2019I had the opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary team with geologists, petroleum engineers and geophysicists to do seismic inversion under the guidance of Doug Johnson and Laura Zahm. After inversion, I transformed geophysical properties to petrophysical properties using logs and correlated these reservoir properties to known production volumes. I had to learn how well completions design affects production to account for some discrepancies. Very insightful internship where I learned how to "translate" between geophysicists, geologists and engineers.

Shell: Geology & Geophysics Intern Summer 2018During my time with Shell, I investigated the feasibility of using artificial intelligence on cuttings to recognize lithology by designing a deep neural network using Matlab. I also compiled a geophysical well logs database, collected geological samples (great field photos below), and collaborated with well-site geologists for an exploration well. I am grateful to my mentor, Alexis Arias, for the guidance and support.

Repsol: Geophysics Intern 2018
I worked with Petrel to interpret 3D seismic data to image geologic layers in the subsurface from a re-processed seismic cube. We realized that our interpretation changed significantly due to a different processing method. I also helped manage and optimize the well logs database. I am grateful to my team and my mentor, Ariel Cespedes, for the guidance in this project.
Senior Capstone Project 2017
This Mines course was my first real exposure to Petrel to interpret seismic data with the end goal of developing a prospect in an exploration play in Utah. This was also my first immersion into an interdisciplinary project working with geologists and petroleum engineers. Upon reflection, we could have done more to integrate our teams and learn from each other.
